Electricity makes the world (and Las Vegas) go round. Come see how NV Energy’s teams harness electricity and demonstrate how to keep safe around it. Location: Ryan Operations Center - 2215 Lone Mountain Road North Las Vegas, Nevada 89081-2607. Demonstrations at 10:00am, 11:30am, and 1:00pm. Limit 25 students per session, ages 5 and up. Come enjoy the spectacular Hoover Dam views from the Colorado River. This is absolutely the best photo opportunity of the Hoover Dam, Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, and the Colorado River! From the Alan Bible Visitor Center, you are transported down the historic Lower Portal Road to the Black Canyon Water Trail of the Colorado River. There, you will board your raft for a 30-minute float. Allow 1.5 hours for this tour from the NPS Parking area and back. Alan Bible Visitor Center Lake Mead National Recreation Area 10 Lakeshore Rd. Tour times 9:30am, 11:30 am, and 1:30pm on Sunday, April 29. Check-in is 30 minutes before the tour. Registration required. The backstage tour of the High Roller will showcase the world’s tallest observation wheel. The unique design and engineering will be discussed as well as the redundant features that make the High Roller one of the world’s safest giant wheels. The program leader will allow the participants to guide the discussion toward their interest via a robust Q/A session. The Linq - 3535 S. Las Vegas Blvd. 12:00pm, 1:00pm, and 2:00pm. Friends of the Wild is home to about 13 different species of unique and exotic animals. They have a two-toed sloth, a blue and gold macaw named Stardust, Spears an African Crested Porcupine, Penn and Teller the Tenrecs, Celine and Bandette the ferrets, and many more! Visitors to the Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas are wowed by its towering mammoth skeleton and enormous ichthyosaur. But did you know that only a fraction of the museum’s collection is on exhibit?
